mamaofgirls Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I have run out of a TV series to watch... Can you ladies help?!! I really like shows that take place back it the olden days, with women having a leading part in it (like, no Andy Griffith, MASH, Columbo, ect). I have seen: The Waltons Anne of Green Gables Christy Little House on the Prairie Dr. Quinn Road to Avonlea Thank you so much! Quote

OneStepAtATime Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Broadchurch, as mentioned upthread. Start with the first series or the second won't make much sense. Mom and I loved Broadchurch. Unless you are into Science Fiction, Action Heroes or Fantasy, I don't have a lot of other suggestions besides what has already been mentioned. Quote

Seeking Squirrels Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Reign? I've only seen the first episode so I don't know how it gets on. It didn't do much for me but I'm a sci-fi and superhero geek so Arrow, The Flash, and Doctor Who are more my thing. But it looked like it would fit what you're looking for. I agree with the Broadchurch recommendation because it was great, but it's modern day, not historical. The show is incredible though, I really love both David Tennant and Oliva Coleman. Quote
J-rap Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 The BBC version of Little Dorrit is so good. It's in about 14 or so 30 minutes episodes. If you can find it... We rented ours on Netflix DVD's at the time, but there might be other ways of viewing it now. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1178522/?ref_=nv_sr_1 1 Quote
ILiveInFlipFlops Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 The Bletchley Circle, if you like murder mysteries. Quote
