Who can dx my pain?

Yesterday, while driving, I noticed some discomfort in my left wrist.  Nothing major, just a little ache if I moved it a certain way.

Yesterday evening, I closed up my laptop and went to put it down, and I got a searing pain in my wrist.

 

I don't remember doing anything to it.  There's no swelling, no pain to the touch, not even any real pain when I swivel it around.  It's only when there's pressure or weight applied.

 

Wrapping with an ace bandage isn't helping.  I'm probably going to pick up a brace today.  I don't want to call the ortho Monday, but I'm starting to think I may not have a choice. :-(

Hmm. That is strange.

All that pops into my head is "hairline fracture," because of the weight/pressure thing.

I have no idea why I said that. I could never be a Dr.   :laugh:

Could be anything - Periodically I have arm or wrist pain. Carpel tunnel ruled out after two tests (where the neurologist pokes the arm with two needles, zaps it with electricity (ouch) and measures the response time). Was told might be a pinched nerve in my neck. How has your posture been lately? Or - wrist could just be getting cranky from too much time on a keyboard (I get that, too). I find in that case a wrist brace helps, as does taking time from doing anything that aggravates the wrist. DS had to have wrist surgery a few years back when he had a ganglion cyst grow right in the wrist joint where it really hurt, and could not be easily removed without surgery. If pain does not subside after a couple days, I'd get it checked out. Sorry to not be more help - but it really could be a number of things.

Consider my "likes" thanks, not actual likes, lol.

 

I've never really learned much about carpal tunnel. It seems odd to me that, if that's a possibility, that it would be my left. I've been doing a lot of right number pad typing lately.  And typing right now isn't painful. (Just annoying with an ace bandage.)

 

Sigh.  I miss my platinum health care plan.  Ds and I are already racking up the medical bills this year!  :glare:
