My kids are both taking the ACT for the first time on April 9th.  I remember people talking about a homeschool code for this.  I looked it up, but when I'm looking at our practice tests, I don't see anywhere to input this information.  Also, my dd is taking it through CTY talent search.  Would she input the homeschool code on her test?  Or is this code something that is only used for registration?  I thought I remembered people talking about their child needing to have that information on the day of the test?

I am going to have my 14 year old use her passport and my 16 year old use his learner's permit as an ID.  Is there any reason I should get a different kind of ID for my daughter?  Can she bring a purse into the testing?  I see snacks can be brought.  Can they be in a small lunchbox sized cooler?  TIA!

Whatever info your child need on the day of ACT test is on the admission ticket which they need to print and bring. My oldest copied accordingly onto the bubble sheet.

Passport is fine. My DS11 used that without a problem and his is a non-US one. Just make sure it is not expired even though the lady checking only verified his name and date of birth.

They can bring a purse/backpack/small cooler. Just make sure it can fit easily under a chair so the aisle is clear for the invigilators to walk the aisles easily. My kid's test room was chairs with tables attached to each chair.

Bring pencils, eraser and an approved calculator. Bring a sweater/jacket just in case.

There was a separate queue for ACT without writing at the center my kid was at in case your kids opt for the without writing option.

Good luck to your daughters.

Thank you.  I see all the information needed on the practice test is on the admission ticket.  For some reason, I had thought I remembered people talking about needing to bring the homeschool code with them on the day of testing, but maybe they changed that.

It's good to know they can have a cooler or small purse.  A sweater/jacket is also a great idea and not something I had thought of.

Does anyone know if kids are allowed to use squishy ear plugs? My son is doing the ACT with accommodations which means he and the three or four other kids in the room have five hours total to complete the four sections. They get to divide up the time as they wish, which means kids will be taking their break at different times.

My son has misophonia and the sound of chewing drives him nuts. If kids can bring their snacks into the testing room during regular breaks, I wonder if they can in the accommodations room. He will never be able to concentrate if someone is on their break and chewing next to him.

I guess I'll call our testing site Monday to clarify. Thanks for alerting me!

I believe snacks are consumed outside the room during the breaks during a typical test.  It would make sense that they don't want food and water around the tests.

If kids can bring their snacks into the testing room during regular breaks

Kids have their breaks at the school auditorium/cafeteria with teachers on duty watching. The auditorium was closed to everyone else. No eating or drinking in the testing rooms themselves.

My DS11 was in the same room as those with accommodations. However seating in the room was not assigned. So he and other kids have one set of break time and the kids on extended time have a different set. There were more teachers in that room though.

If your child is sensitive to sound, it is better to call the testing site and clarify because kids going for breaks after the first two section are unintentionally noisy.

ETA:

My kid's test site was our local nearby high school.
