michaeljenn Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I have an upcoming senior who will begin the CRAZY audition process for Musical Theatre. I NEVER knew how competitive this program was. I am shocked and scared for my daughter who has a passion for musical theatre. I would love to hear your experience and would love to know if you hired a coaching service. Quote
4KookieKids Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 My friends who did did not hire coaching, but did work very closely with their private music instructors to prepare, sometimes multiple times a week. My own experience was auditioning for music programs but not musical theater so I may not be much help myself. Ultimately, the extreme level of competitiveness in the music performance field turned me off to it in an academic setting. It was too cute theory for me to be able to enjoy it with my personality. I still love music, but pursued math as a career instead. Quote
katilac Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Does she know about Unified Auditions? They're held in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, usually, and allow you to audition for several schools with one trip. http://www.unifiedauditions.com/ Quote
