chaya Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 I've been reading the Ramona books by Beverly Cleary to my 6 yo dd, she's not reading on her own yet but is loving these books. what would you recommend next? I love Beverly Cleary but after reading hundreds of pages of her writing aloud in the last 2 months, I'm ready for a new voice, so I'm not running to read her other books right now. also, dd is not interested in princesses or fairies after three boys, I kinda forgot what little girls like to read Quote
El... Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 If you can stand a little more Beverly Cleary, Dd really enjoyed her books about Henry Huggins. :) 1 Quote
kentuckymom Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 My five year old girl is a big fan of Ramona and also of the Fudge books by Judy Blume, even though they mainly focus on boys. If you haven't read those yet you might try them. Have you read any Boxcar Children books to her? That's another favorite around here. Even my 11 year old boy still likes them. 1 Quote
