Hi!

Obsessive searching here, and I am thinking I could use some seasoned advice. Next year I'll have a 2nd and 4th grader. We'll be coming off of Beautiful Feet Early American Primary History.

We participate in Classical Conversations and I like how BF is a little lighter. It works well with our CC work.

I've been looking for modern American, but the BF guide has it rated for older children.

Any advise is welcome. We do have SOTW 1 and the study guide- we used it up to Egyptians and liked it, I just wanted to move to US history b/c the kids had lots of questions coming up in daily life about it.

WDYT? Thanks!

I am planning on using Simply Charlotte Mason's history module for the modern era for my younger child. You are supposed to be able to use it with the whole family. I haven't used it yet though, so I can't give you a lot of feedback. I will be adding even more picture books to the schedule than what is recommended. The guide has you alternate between a spine covering American history and another spine covering world history. I'll be using SOTW 4 for her brother, but it is quite a leap in content and reading level. SWB does not recommend it for the younger siblings, but I know people on these boards have used it successfully. SOTW3 has been a stretch, so I am going to see how SCM goes! HTH!
