nature girl
So Farrar has an excellent e-book that she linked to a post on the General board, explaining the election. It's wonderful, but I'm sure it would be a bit too much for my DD6. I've been thinking for awhile that I want to do more to explain what's going on so she'd understand our dinner conversations. I've done a little but at a very, very high level... I guess what I'm really, ideally looking for is even more than that, a description of the branches of the government, what they do, what they oversee, a description of what a law is, etc. (but again at a simple level), also explaining the election process, and why this year is so important. I may be asking for too much from a book for a young child, but is there anything (or any combo of things) like this out there that a 6yo might be able to understand?
