AmyontheFarm
I remember a homeschool article or blog post or book?? where the author talked about how you should expect a younger child to work within arms length of you and as they get into high school they can move physically farther from you, for example into another room. Maybe Susan wrote it? Does this spark any remembrance from anyone else?

AmyontheFarm
It's sort of like tomato staking. My understanding is tomato staking is used when child is not behaving as you would like them too. This article was more about how we are too quick to assume a child can be left alone to do their school work and how we should be present to help them and encourage them.
Carrie12345
I think it was oNE of SWB's mp3s. Perhaps with independence in the title?
AmyontheFarm
That looks good, Carrie, however it didn't just deal with middle school/high school. I think I might still purchase that and listen to it. Here's the link in case anyone else is interested in it. https://peacehillpress.com/p/teaching-students-to-work-independently-mp3/#Overview
