ScoutTN Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 (edited) Good morning! I've declared a RA day here, so kids will do a quick piano practice, Bible reading and math. Then we will sit on the sofa and read away the rest of the morning. Done! I was hoping to finish the last book at lunch, but neighbor kids showed up to play, so off they go and I will work on my list for a while. Later: Home Depot filing hole punch MM and put into Dd's notebook double check April symphony date yardwork? It is very cool now, but sunny and this afternoon should be nice. Dinner: meatloaf and sides Edited March 22, 2016 by ScoutTN 2 Quote

Jean in Newcastle Posted March 22, 2016 Author Posted March 22, 2016 OK - I'm going to have a mini meltdown here. I've been dealing with stuff possibly related to kidney stones for months now. I have talked to two doctors about this so I'm not keeping it a secret. One doc put me on a med. designed to help flush out kidney stones. This got better at the end of last week. And now today I'm in pain and my urine is dark. (TMI, sorry). So. . . I think I'm going to have to call my primary and see what he says. And ds has been sick for a month now and it isn't getting any better. So I need to call regarding him as well. I'm behind on paying the bills. And I'm behind in laundry. And the refrigerator needs to be cleaned out. And then there's stuff like pet care and cooking and school and. . . (The kids do help around here but I still have to coordinate everything.) So. . . I can't call the doctor yet and I don't know what my schedule is going to be, because I don't know what he's going to say that I should do. 1 Quote

SKL Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 I had a rough night again last night. Got the kids up and out a little early this morning! Went back to bed, but only lounged around until about 10am. Had a cup of herbal tea. I am going to see if I can skip coffee until my "issue" resolves. I took 1 ibuprofen to stop the headache I felt forming. Played a little piano while waiting for my tea to brew. Took care of the critters for now. Sent out 1 work email. I have a lot to do today, both work work and house work. My kid did not approve of the fact that she doesn't have any clean leggings. I told her that with a sick mom, she is lucky she has something clean to wear at all. :P But I will feel a lot better once I get the house back in shape and the laundry up to date. The kids' first spring soccer practice is today. I may drop them off and go to the store for some supplies and Easter goodies. I would also like to do some walking. We'll see how it goes. I also have to spend a lot of time with at least one kid on math tonight, and maybe science too. Read-aloud may or may not happen. 2 Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted March 22, 2016 Author Posted March 22, 2016 OK - triage nurse said that I am to come in and pee at the lab and I have an appt. with my primary. As usual, my symptoms etc are not "normal" so I'm sort of dreading this. I hate having to try to make people take me seriously. Honestly, the last time I had this they did a scan just to humor me and then asked me why I wasn't writhing in pain. Maybe it's because I"m used to pain. Grr. OK - deep breath. What do I need to do in order to get out the door in one hour? Libby is all taken care of. Neko is all taken care of. I need to get dd up out of bed. I need to take care of Rocky. Dd will take care of Rusty. Meds have been taken. I will hold off on my shots until I know what is going on with the doctor appts. Oh and clothes. I need to put those on. 1 Quote
MysteryJen Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Hugs, Jean. I'll be thinking about you this morning. Happy birthday to your ds, Tammy!!! Morning practices are done. School work is going on. Everyone else is on break, but we are taking ours during the meet next week. Ds1 and the girlfriend are off for the day. No one told me that parenting young adults is super hard. And it consists mostly of biting my tongue. To do: School for all Clean kitchen/general pick up Jen things PM practice I have Judo tonight Have a great day! 2 Quote
SKL Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 I washed two loads of laundry so far, dried one, folded and put away some clothes that were left from previous washings when I was too tired to finish. I have 2 more loads to wash. Mostly cleaned the kitchen and entryway, organized some kid DVDs. Took a shower and got dressed. (Hey, some days you need to take credit where you can.) Mostly cleaned my bathroom. I am really missing my coffee right now. 2 Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted March 22, 2016 Author Posted March 22, 2016 All pet care is done. I got dressed and discovered a hole in the crotch of my one pair of clean pants. Not good when I have to run out the door to the doctor. Dd and I rushed out of the house 20 minutes early and I bought a pair of pants on my way to the doctor. Jean in Newcastle Posted March 22, 2016 Author Posted March 22, 2016 No kidney stones. Now I've been diagnosed with one more crappy pain condition to go with the ones I already have. Came home for lunch. 1 load of laundry washed and dried Kitchen cleaned Went to B & N so that dd could pick up her new books Quick grocery shop done Dinner is in the oven. Quote
SKL Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Dropped 1 kid off at soccer (2nd kid said she was sick). Then I had to go to the store because I completely ran out of my very large stash of personal products. Grabbed Easter goodies while there. Ate a fudge brownie egg as compensation for my crappy week so far. Checked in with sick kid - drat, she really does have a fever and will probably have to miss her math test tomorrow. She went to sleep in her "not sick" sister's bed. I only hope it's something the other kid already had. Now I need to run back out and get kid 1 and figure out what to do for dinner. 1 Quote
SKL Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Kid 1 was in a great mood after soccer. She ate and studied her math and went to bed, all with a smile. Now I would like to try to go to bed early. I did almost no work all day today, but maybe, maybe tomorrow will be a better day. :/ I did finish all the laundry, except for folding the final load. Quote
Melissa in Australia Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Tuesday is yesterday here :coolgleamA: on Tuesday my cleaner texted me that she will not be coming this week I received the message after she should have already been here. She knows I don't use my mobile phone. she didn't come the week before either. She sent a text late last night that she has decided to take a few weeks off over the school holidays that is next week and the week after. the only reason I have a housecleaner is because DHS is funding one so I can do therapy with twins and have something sort of like respite. when the cleaner doesn't show up it is a real pain because even though I clean the house in between times I leave it for 2 days before she comes because it seems pointless having a cleaner if the house is already clean. So when she doesn't show I have to madly clean to get it presentable before the therapist arrive I know I am a big whinge Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 Melissa - do you think it is time to look for a more reliable housecleaner? 1 Quote
Melissa in Australia Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Melissa - do you think it is time to look for a more reliable housecleaner? She was the only person who responded to my add. She also works for the newspaper shop. So If I advertise she will be the one who will take my add details- so a bit awkward - small town and all that. I am paying her $20 p/h. She doesn't even do a particularly good job - more of a rearranger instead of cleaner - she doesn't vacuum under the beds or under the couch cushions (I only asked her to do bathrooms, main part of house and twins room) but spends a lot of time arranging the twins toys perfectly on their toy shelf - which they pull off the second she is gone! ARGH! Quote
