rutamattatt Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 My DSs are taking Stanford Tests coming up next month. Oldest DS is in 8th grade and has been told to bring a calculator and also scratch paper for testing. What types of problems/sections would the calculator be used for? (I'm assuming the students are supposed to do the computations in the math sections themselves, right???) Quote
Storygirl Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 There are math sections that test calculating skills. For those sections, they cannot use a calculator but must figure things out on their scratch paper. There are other math sections that test math problem solving ability. For those sections, they can use their calculators. So they can use the calculator on some math sections but not others. Quote
