momee Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 (edited) Trader Joes use by date said 3/13. They were slimy when I opened the package (probably from smushed pea yuck). Rinsed them and they almost all look plump and pretty. I am so sad I forgot them, in the tiniest bag behind the orange juice - :( Edited March 19, 2016 by momee Quote
Farrar Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 (edited) Depends. I'd put them in something, I guess. But I find that once the slime is really all over, things can be cooked safely and all, but they don't usually taste very good on their own. Edited March 19, 2016 by Farrar Quote
Tammyla Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Depends for me too; the slimy part would put me off...Do they smell funny? Quote
JustEm Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Wait were they all slimy or just a few that got smashed and the ones surrounding them? If they were all slimy then I wouldn't eat them Quote
Daria Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 No, I have a horror of slime, so I would have tossed them the second I noticed slime. Not saying that is a logical thing. Quote
goldberry Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Would have said yes based on the date, but no based on the slime. 2 Quote
Farrar Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 For me, this is the sort of thing that goes in a stir fry. Safe but not going to be tasty on its own so having it dripping in sauce is better. Quote
