Um_2_4 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 (edited) So, remember how I was helping someone find dress pants for a man in a hard to find size? Well, we are helping them out so I found a pair on a website (big company not etsy or something) and placed an order Monday (14th) PM. Read their shipping info and paid for "3 day express" because he needs them by the 23rd (cost more than the pants to be honest) and site said Mon PM order would count as a Tuesday order and give them 36 hours to get out of warehouse. SOOOO I expected ship by Wed night, right??? (Regular shipping said 8-12 business days!!) Well, Thursday and no email, charge is still pending even. So I log in this PM and still says "in progress" :cursing: . Call to double check, yep still in warehouse "ready to ship". Then they start telling me "it should go out tomorrow" and "will take 3-5 business days"??? Why did I pay almost $16 for "3 day express" then??? They "escalated" the case and I should see it go out tomorrow but at this point :glare: I HOPE they fit and don't need any alterations as this is cutting it super close. And they ship via FedEx which doesn't count Saturdays for residential deliveries. So IF it goes out Fri, I might get them Wed. Mainly I am upset that they seemed to think I was expecting too much for it to take less than 4 days to get out of the warehouse (IF it leaves Fri AM, that would be 3 days, double their turnaround time on their site)!! The rep was beyond patronizing. Am I off here?? Update: So, FB kind of worked. They are refunding the shipping charges and are sending it overnight fedex so I'll have them Monday by 8pm. I think the 800# was just staff located overseas and going on facebook got me a call from someone in the NJ office. Edited March 18, 2016 by Um_2_4 2 Quote
Tess in the Burbs Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 I would be frustrated. I noticed Land's End shipping has improved. It used to sit there a week before heading out and this time I went to cancel one item but it was already gone! Quote
Mergath Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 I would expect them to refund my shipping costs. 6 Quote
mamiof5 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 I'd ask for a full refund for shipping costs. That's definitely not 3 days, and that's not "express" shipping. 6 Quote
theelfqueen Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 I would call before they ship and tell them that you ordered based on arrival date and expect it to arrive on time... and the outcome I would want is faster shipping on their dime because they delayed getting it out of their warehouse. 5 Quote
Tsuga Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Read their shipping info and paid for "3 day express" Definitely they need to refund for the express; I would not be shocked if they did not honor a full refund. I would if I were a company, but I'm just saying that's my experience. But you are rightfully frustrated that they are late. 2 Quote
fraidycat Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 You are not off. They should ship overnight on their dime + refund your shipping costs. Social media seems to get the job done when customer service doesn't. 3 Quote
bettyandbob Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 That's not express. I'd contact them and ask for shipping refund 2 Quote
Lanny Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Before I purchase from Amazon Marketplace Sellers, I always read the last few Customer Feedbacks they have received. Several times, I have seen people complaining, because they paid extra, for Expedited Shipping, and their shipments took a long time to arrive. I believe that sometimes, because the package is being shipped via a method that is not normal for the Seller, that ends up slowing things down. Frequently, the "Standard" shipping is amazingly good. Sometimes not, but everything I order eventually is delivered to our Receiver/Forwarder. One reason many large Sellers ship low value packages via DHL GlobalMail and FedEx SmartPost and the UPS equivalent is because those are delivered by USPS. USPS does not charge extra for Home Delivery or Saturday Delivery and they can also deliver to P.O. Boxes. I believe you should ask for a Refund of the additional amount you paid for the Expedited Shipping. 1 Quote
Um_2_4 Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 Thanks everyone, so I'm not crazy LOL! I just posted on their facebook page. From past posts it seems they have someone on there who responds in an hour on average, so we'll see. And checked the status, still hasn't shipped and they are in NJ, so almost lunch time there. 2 Quote

I think I might know this company. If it is the one I think it is, they have the slowwwwwwwwest shipping I have ever seen. If they do refund the express, watch for the refund. They were slow with that, too. 1 Quote
kitten18 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 That's a good resolution (as long as they show up on Monday). Social media is really good for stuff like this. 1 Quote
