JessReplanted
I'm about to let my son (13) dive into The Hunger Games, and I would love to use it as a springboard for studying history and maybe literature. I would also love to use it as an opportunity for critical thinking and writing. Has anyone used a fantastic study that you would recommend? I know that there is a bunch of stuff online, but I would rather not have to wade through it all. Thanks!
Lori D.
Well, Garlic Press puts out some great study guides, and recently put out 1 guide for each of the The Hunger Games books -- but these are literature guides, not unit studies… The Garlic Press challenger level guides I have used in the past are very meaty and have *great* discussion/thinking questions for every chapter, "mini lessons" of literature info, info about the author/times of the work, chapter summaries, writing assignment ideas, additional resource ideas, and answers in the back. No familiarity with it, but The Hunger Games Unit Plan looks like it might have some additional activities and extensions into History for you.
