Ginevra Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 How in the world does one find out what sort of pay can be expected from a given job if everyone is so coy about this now? I was a Legal Secretary a billion years ago and I am toying with going back to legal eork, or at least administrative, but hardly anyone actually SAYS what compensation they are offering on job listings. I want to have *some* idea what these jobs are paying now; also, they can vary greatly depending on whether they are located in the city or in a local town. Anyone have any idea? Quote
hornblower Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 you can try a site like this: https://www.glassdoor.com/index.htm I think they still have a free trial for something like 48h. It's been a while since I used it & it doesn't show on the splash page ... 1 Quote
Arcadia Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 (edited) Hubby finds reviews on Glassdoor quite accurate even though it is self reporting. The same company will have different pay depending on location. Edited March 14, 2016 by Arcadia 2 Quote

TechWife Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 You can check the Occupational Outlook Handbook from the US Dept of Labor for broad pay ranges. 1 Quote
