Lorien Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Does anyone know what happens when one joins a group on Facebook? Does joining allow the other members of the group to see everything on your timeline that your friends can see? I'd like to join a homeschool group, but I know I won't know anyone else in the group. I'm not comfortable letting strangers have access to my page and while I don't think they would, I'd like to make sure before I join. Quote
Butter Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 People in groups with you see the same thing as anyone else you are not friends with. 1 Quote

hornblower Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Your timeline visibility stays unaffected.Anything you post on the group will be permanently there though, with your name attached, even you leave the group, unless you manually delete all your posts/comments, or deactivate/delete your fb profile completely. So that's the only proviso - even in private small groups, admins can change, new people can come in etc so treat posts in groups carefully since they're actually tied to your name (as opposed to boards like this where most of us are anonymous or pseudonymous...) SKL Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Agreeing with the above. I have a follow-on question if you don't mind: Is there a way to pull up all the posts you've made on a group page? I would like to go back and delete some old stuff about my kids, but I am not sure how without scrolling forever and ever. Quote
JustEm Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 SKL, you can search your name on the group page and all you posts should show up 2 Quote
