ajfries Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 I've listened to audiobooks on my phone and read books separately on my tablet but I've never done both using Whispersync. Can I read a book on my tablet and listen to it on my phone or does it need to be read and listened to on the same device? Does it sync across devices? Quote
Rockhopper Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 (edited) I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know that it syncs on *a* device. That is, we listen to AND read an audio book on our Kindle Fire. I love it because my DD who is struggling with tackling harder books can read and be read to, and on the Fire the word being read gets highlighted. ETA: I feel like I told you something you already knew - but I guess my point is you should be able to listen AND read on your phone. I think whispersync only works on Fire tablets, though - not other tablets. Edited March 13, 2016 by Rockhopper Quote
Incognito Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 I've had a device ask me if I wanted to resume at the last spot it was opened on other devices, however I do not have a phone involved. I think you can only know by trying. Quote
nd293 Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 I'd expect it's across devices: certainly if you listen to an Audible book on two different devices it syncs between the two (it in fact asks you which place you'd prefer to resume at). Quote
ajfries Posted March 14, 2016 Author Posted March 14, 2016 (edited) Just an update to say it works beautifully!!! I can read and listen and listen and read on any of my devices; they all pick up where I left off. It's awesome! Edited March 14, 2016 by ajfries Quote
