On-line Classes - Trends?

My family has utilized VP self-paced History/Bible. Having avoided full retail pricing, we have felt the price we paid was equitable for what we received. My oldest son has also taken the live Omnibus classes. We were pleased with the classes, but the pricing is above the OUCH thresh hold for our income level.

 

I know the on-line class opportunities are widening annually. Do any of you have the scoop for 2016/17? Perhaps you have noticed a positive trend in pricing somewhere? Are you aware of a particular discount various vendors typically offer at a certain time? Some may offer a discount - but, it is at the last minute. Who should you not register with until the eleventh hour?

I picked up a BJU distance online science class for my son this winter for $99 and it has been worthwhile. They offer the $99 price around Christmas each year and courses are good for about a calendar year. The regular price is $299-399.
