Hilltopmom Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 (edited) So, last year I typed up this huge list of books I thought ds should read before leaving home. I searched school recommended reading lists by grade level, topics I know he enjoys (history), books I remember, classics, the Sonlight lists, modern books & best sellers, etc. Then I added ones he'd already read. It got very long.... Now, I check them off as he reads them, but we keep adding books to the list as they are recommended! It's organized by genre, mostly. I just went through & took off some classics that I enjoyed but know he will never read. He is also not a Great Books kid, so I skipped listing those too & focused on things I think he'll enjoy, or classics I expect him to read regardless. When he's bored with what's on our shelf at home (he usually finishes a few a week, reading at night after I kick him off the computer for the evening), I pick a new pile of books off the list & grab them from the library. He'll never get through the whole list, but it makes it easy for me to keep him in reading material;) Just wondering if anyone else keeps a "books to read" list. (It's also our "Reading list" to send to colleges, I'll just remove what he never got to.) Edited March 9, 2016 by Hilltopmom 1 Quote
