3girls4me Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Hi everyone! Have any of you used the BF Medieval history intermediate literature pack? I will have a 6th grader. Thanks!! Quote
lollie010 Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 We are using it now with a 5th and 6th grader. My history loving 6th grader cannot get enough of the readalouds. We haven't had a chance to do much more than just read the books and discuss. It has been perfect for us, because we have a full schedule otherwise. The reading is not overwhelming and could probably be done by my sixth grader independently, but we enjoy the time together reading. The books are the kind you can bond over. Good stuff. Let me know if you have any specific questions. Quote

I have been using Heart of Dakota this year happily, but based on some things too long to get into, we are considering another program that is mostly just history. (We have everything else lined up) We want to have room to focus on literature, writing, math and Latin next year and it seems like so many of the programs are bloated with history, if that makes sense. So your comment that it's a good amount and gives you room to focus on the rest of your subjects is helpful. I also love the comment about the books being bonding. We've missed that this year. I'm also considering Memoria Press and Biblioplan. Have you used either of those? How long would you say that BF takes each day? And how many days a week do you do it? Could younger kids sit in with any level of interest? (3rd and 1st) Thanks!! Edited March 6, 2016 by Pdriskell Quote
