Granny_Weatherwax Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 (edited) Hey there~ I play indoor tennis with a couple of older women who have difficulty tracking the yellow tennis ball . The yellow gets lost with the curtains, the floor, etc. A few years ago, I purchased some pink balls and we were able to track the balls better and enjoy our game more. However, the balls that are made here in the States are now a pale pink and practically worthless indoors. I have looked online and it looks like the pink balls made by Penn for the Canadian market are still a vibrant, deep pink. It's difficult to tell online, though. Can anyone tell me if the Canadian pink tennis balls are indeed a deep pink? ETA: Canadian Tire has orange and pink balls but it appears they won't ship to the US. Any advice? Miss Tick Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 It is so hard to imagine that in this day and age you can find a product and not be able to buy it, isn't it? I mean, we're not talking endangered animals here! I wonder if you could give your pale pink balls a swim in red Kool-Ade or clothes dye to bump up their color. Good luck in your search. I hope you aren't forced into any kind of border smuggling situation! 1 Quote
lewber Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 The ones on Amazon still look like a dark pink? Are they not really that color? the recent reviews are still good and one recent review said how good this color is for indoor courts. Quote
Kiara.I Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 I can go check the colour of the Penn balls at Canadian Tire tonight, if you like. 1 Quote
Kiara.I Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Kmart: http://www.kmart.com/multi-color-tennis-balls-6-pack/p-080W021382411002P?prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2 The red and the purple out of the set might work for you. Then you'd have 4 spare useless balls, though. :( Also, what about contacting Penn and explaining the problem? Another resource to try is this one: http://www.flaghouse.ca/Sports/Paddle-Racquet-Sports/Tennis/Balls/FLAGHOUSE-Color-Select-Tennis-Ball-Set.axd But also Canadian, and I don't know of they ship cross-border or not. We tried a can inside and they were more difficult to see than the yellow. The balls almost appear white under the lighting in this particular facility (college field house, not necessarily designed for indoor tennis). Quote

I saw the Flaghouse balls and looked into those but one review said they are pressureless (meaning minimal bounce) which explains why they are advertised for special needs activities. Ill check out the local Kmart to see if it carries the colored balls, Thanks for the heads up. Edited March 5, 2016 by ScoutermominIL Quote

Kiara.I Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 If you could check for me, I would appreciate it. (anxiously awaiting news) And the news is...not good. They do have Penn pink balls, but the pink is not as deep as shown on the website. It's more a bubble-gum pink and the can has the breast cancer logo on it, so I think it might be the same balls you're finding in the US. Chances are good it's just that Canadian Tire hasn't updated the website photo (and may not even have realized they've changed.... "Yup, pink. Check.") Anyway, it's not pastel pink. But it's not the rich pink either. 1 Quote
