Haiku Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Even though I am pretty set on using Miller Levine next year for biology, I can never just leave well enough alone. I always have to keep looking. I'm confused by Life on Earth. It says it's a full course, but when I look in iTunes U, it's just 251 files with titles I can't always figure out. How do you find what you need? How do you use this course? Disclaimer: I hate iTunes and don't understand it. I avoid using it whenever possible because it usually ends up with me yelling at the computer and storming off in a huff. So if using Life on Earth seems logical and easy to you, keep that in mind. 1 Quote
Hilltopmom Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 It's downloadable as separate units for the pad, that's how I did it, just one at a time. But we didn't use it, I just wanted to see it because I love his other work. Quote
TrulySusan Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I downloaded the books and even an assignment guide, but could never find any sort of answer key to the chapter questions and tests. If I could find that, I believe I could make it work. I realize I can find the answers myself, but - time. My ds and I are still leaning toward using it next year. You might try downloading the first book to get a general idea. They are all similar. Quote
Targhee Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I couldn't figure out the iTunes U course and files. I do not like iTunes anymore. We were able to download the text (not the 251 files, the books) through iBooks store. We use those as a text, supplemented with other things. In this form it is not a full course. I teach a lab at co-op, and we add other content to the reading in LOE (extra videos, CK12, Biology:Concepts and Connections, misc stuff). These books are well done. But I wouldn't call the books alone enough for a course. Quote
Haiku Posted March 2, 2016 Author Posted March 2, 2016 I downloaded the first book into iTunes. It took over 30 minutes to download and then couldn't be opened on my Mac. I'll stick with Miller Levine. Thanks for the replies! 1 Quote
