HS Government using Documents of Freedom site?

Recommended Posts

I'm curious if anyone has used the The Bill of Rights Institute's Documents of Freedom site for hs government, and if you did, did you supplement with a textbook? I've never taught government, but it seems pretty thorough, including quizzes and discussion handouts. I don't think we'd need a text and could just supplement with documentaries, etc.

I have not used this program (thanks for the link! I'll check it out!), but I am planning to use the text We the People from the Center for Civic Education. USHistory.org also has a free, online government book. My dd is using and enjoying their American history text.

Sparrow,

Thank you for sharing this link. I think I will be using it next year with my daughter.

Thank you for this resource. We are dropping Notgrass and using this instead!

We started using it last week and I am very impressed with it. I'm glad you found it useful!

This is produced by the Bill of Rights Institute, which provides a variety of educator resources.

I started poking around there, too. A wealth of information and I'm surprised I hadn't stumbled upon it before!
