marbel
Another recipe is to make a mixture of feta cheese (gibna bayda (white cheese)...comes in various strengths), chopped tomatoes, olive oil, and salt and pepper. No idea what it's called. This is yummy served with bread. Do you mean you mix this with the eggs? Or is this something completely separate? Either way, sounds delicious to me! I have a similar recipe for a feta dip: feta, tomatoes, olive oil, green onions, and a particular brand of Greek seasoning. But I think one could season it however they like. We eat this all the time in summer. It's a great breakfast!
creekland
If I can't finish the leftovers for breakfast that means I now have lunch, too. This would happen at home. Right now though, we're visiting my oldest son and his wife... and already have the cake slices we bought with the dinners last night as our lunch today. Then he has another restaurant he wants to introduce us to for dinner tonight (our last together). What I'll have for breakfast tomorrow will depend upon my leftover options... but I know it won't come from downstairs at the motel! Had we been home we'd have never been eating so much crammed into a small time frame, but this is fairly common (for us) when we travel as there's so much we like to sample when we're with friends or relatives - favorites people want to share and/or things we can't get back in our rural area. Unfortunately, it also means I find all those pounds I've lost while at home... but they'll go away relatively quickly once back and on our usual eating patterns, so I don't worry about it. I just enjoy the journey. In the old days I could always pawn off what I couldn't finish to one of our boys (at least, once they were teens). I don't have that option anymore (sigh). When they visit us our chickens can end up with a decent feast if leftovers get too old. Here? The best I could do is put it out for the wild critters to enjoy, but I doubt places want me doing that. Hoot
My go to breakfast every morning is usually Better Oats raw oatmeal, but I also love steamed veggies with an over easy egg on top. A biscuit with a slice of tomato and cheese is good, too. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
SharonM
I love leftover pie for breakfast. I guess if I am going to consume a large amount of calories it should be something good. Yesterday it was a rustic unshaped pie dd made. Peach and mixed berries. Yummo! Of course I didn't put ice cream on it, that's just silly, Ice cream is for dessert!
creekland
http://citycafemenu.com/cakes/ Their cake slices are huge too. If anyone is looking for somewhere in Chattanooga to eat, City Cafe is extremely worthy for the price IMO. I suspect one meal with dessert is probably a week's worth of calories... but quite tasty... and not super expensive. Plus, few eat the whole meal at one sitting, so there's breakfast for the next day or two! Just updating after having tried these cakes for lunch today (coconut and sampler)... Seriously. If anyone is around Chattanooga and is looking for a treat, these cakes are some of the best I've ever had anywhere. We ended up swinging by to pick up more today, not for meals, but to take with us tomorrow since we're leaving and won't be back for quite some time... and of course we left some for our son and DIL too. What we bought would make a nice breakfast, but we plan on eating them for dinner at our next destination - as a treat. As I mentioned before, to us there is no difference at all between foods chosen to eat at any particular meal. The cake slices will be dinner because we ought to be able to eat them while staring out at the Gulf of Mexico... the treat with the setting combined are the key. :coolgleamA: The twice leftover lasagna will be breakfast! :drool5:
Julie Smith
I fry 1/2 an orange and 1/2 a red pepper in a bit of oil, and then dip the pieces in hummus. The boys then eat, raw the other halves of the peppers.

Anne in CA
Well, I was looking at this thread for menu ideas... didn't get any but did get a craving for Middle Eastern food. We have a BBQ pulled pork scrambler that we make for breakfast that is a big seller. I wouldn't eat it for breakfast but many people do, does that count?

Roadrunner
My family eats olive oil, olives, feta cheese with freshly baked bread. I eat the same, minus the bread, plus the boiled egg.
Momto4inSoCal
Last year I did the paleo autoimmune diet to try and get my psoriasis under control and I was eating a homemade sausage with homemade liverworst, saurkraut and some roasted root veggies. That was every morning for a month. It wasn't bad actually.
MeghansMom
Well, not weird, but I eat either a cup of steel cut oatmeal with apples, walnuts and cinnamon or sco with strawberries and blueberries with walnuts. I also have a low sugar yogurt. I sometimes make a breakfast sandwich with whole wheat English muffin, low fat cheese, Canadian bacon and an egg and low sugar yogurt with fruit. I have a large glass of ice water when I get up and one cup of coffee. :-)
