Laurel-in-CA
She is very well endowed and we are finding it VERY hard to find a store where she can actually try on bras in her size. As a result, we are forced into mail ordering, trying, returning, etc., which costs us s/h to return on top of the very expensive bra. Do you have any suggestions for a 32DDD that doesn't want to go into a "sexy" store (she's only 12)?
need2read
Rhondashear.com. The website does use some sex appeal to sell but the bras are awesome...I wear the Ahh bra with the padding. No underwire and you can get ones with a little bit of lace seen over he cleavage area so it doesn't matter if they poke out of your shirt. They come in every color of he rainbow, are very supportive and are not super expensive Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

4ofus
Do you have a Nordstroms in your area? If not, you may have an independent store that does bra-fitting. Google these brands - Panache, Freya, Fantasie. There's more, but those are the ones off the top of my head. The folks selling these bras usually are excellent at fitting. The bras are sized differently, so the band is = to a measuring tape measurement, not the measurement + 2 or whatever. Then the cup size is determined based on how many inches different from the band size. So you end up with some really wild sizes ~ but they fit SO GOOD. Every time I find an independent store that sells these brands I'm so excited. You usually have to set an appointment for a fitting, but it is the best fitting of your life. 4ofus
And ~ if you don't have Nordstroms in your area, they have free shipping & free returns on their website. SO HELPFUL. The Panache Porcelain Underwire Bra is very simple & perfect, I think. Remember it is UK sizing, so you'll have to measure her ribcage (right below breasts) then measure across breasts to get the cup size. You want the band to be tight on the first set of loops, it will stretch over time. Edited February 28, 2016 by 4ofus
medawyn
I'd add Anita and Perele Simon to the brands you look for in an independent shop. I find the best fitters at independent shops. You can also do a search to see if there is a lingerie store that does post-mastectomy fittings. They usually have a wide range of sizes and styles and excellent fitters who are well trained and accustomed to making people comfortable in difficult situations.
freesia
Have you tried Lane Bryant? I know her band is small, so it may not work--but I am well endowed and more so when pregnant. It took me until my fourth child to realize I could get larger cup bras in stores for full figured gals even when I wasn't overweight. Renthead Mommy
Has she had an actual fitting? Go to a store that does fittings. A good department store like Macy's or something. Penny's used to be good for that but they are so bare boned now I doubt they have someone who knows how anymore. Even if they don't have her size, they will be able to tell you her correct size. DDD on a 12 year old seems really high. She might be able to go up a band size and down a cup. ( I think I am remembering it working like that.)
monstermama
Another vote for Nordstrom's. They'll measure her and will then suggest several brands and styles that are appropriate for her age and size. I like Natori's t-shirt bras, personally.
