Would love to get some feedback on the My Pals Are Here International Edition Science books by Singapore.  They seem very colorful and well organized.

The teacher's manual is expensive, is it really necessary?

Thanks!

We really like MPH. Unfortunately, we just don't have the time to pursue it with therapy 3 days per week. I don't think you need it in the lower levels unless you just like following someone else's lesson plans. What level are you planning on doing? As for the British spellings and metrics, I used it as an opportunity to explain the differences to DD and it was definitely no big deal for her.

I found that we didn't really need it with 3A this past year. Order the books and see if you could do it without the teacher's manual. You can always order it if you find you do. It was great if you wanted a teaching schedule to follow. I found that I could teach the material without it.

I like it so far okay. It is colorful. It's appropriate. I like the (generic) international approach but I make statements about names of things in the U.S. vs Britain and spellings. There was a mistake in the very first skeleton activity (cut out a paper skeleton) with incorrect bones. It makes me concerned and wary. I'll try to peruse it more to give a better opinion since we aren't very far into it yet. The TM is nice for clarity and guidance but probably could be done without it if on a budget.
