ktgrok Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 (edited) Anyone actually worried about this? I never heard about it until recently, when I found a study from 2009 and a bunch of articles referencing it, saying that higher vitamin E levels might be linked to prenatal heart defects. But...the study seems pretty shaky, and I can't find anything more recent. I've had 2 pregnancies since then without knowing about this, and wish I still didn't. Every decent prenatal I like, can stomach, that has what I want also has vitamin e in it, sometimes up to 90 mg a day. Does anyone have more up to date info? would you not worry? Worry? Figure that getting enough of other nutritionist is more important than a possible issue with the vitamin E? Sometimes ignorance is bliss. Edited to add: Just found this. I think I'm going to stop worrying about it and just take what vitamin I want. I won't add extra vitamin E, but I'm not going to worry about what's in the prenatal. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26343254 Edited February 24, 2016 by ktgrok Quote
moonsong Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 I love when women take vit E during pregnancy. It is great for adding elastic y to the tissues. It is also called natures glue as it helps the prevent placenta previa. The only caution I have is to stop taking it 5 weeks before your due date as it can cause a retained placenta Quote
Guest Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 I don't supplement it orally and don't worry about it topically :) Quote
