BusyMom5
Have you used this? Opinions? What other parts of LA do I need to incorporate? Is this fun and engaging? Boring? How much writing instruction is given? Is there any grammar instruction? Is it okay to buy a used copy, or should I buy new? Have the editions changed recently? Any other tips or help would be appreciated! I am considering this, Mosdos Gold, and LL for next year. I know we need grammar, so if it isn't included I need advice for that, too. Thanks!
Peaceful Isle
I haven't used grade 8 yet but I just ordered grade 7 English ( and everything else's needed for grade 7) I do know that the reading books go along with the English . I'm interested in finding out more info as well :)
fastweedpuller
Here is a link to a sample lesson for the most recent edition of the 8th grade English: http://oakmeadow.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/8-English-sample-lessons.pdf What I like about the new format is all the areas for writing in the book...I have a kid who likes to organize her thoughts that way. We're using OM for English and History next year (7th grade) and the two programs are (very) linked. I would investigate the 8th grade curriculum to see if it's closely tied to its Civics program.
