happycc Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Does anyone knows what comes after Math In FOcus 3? Can they go straight to Geometry or do they need to do Algebra 1 or some kind of integrated math? Quote
ikslo Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Math in Focus 3 to me means 3rd grade math, so I am confused. I would recommend Math in Focus 4. Can someone please clear up the question here? I feel like I am missing something and Google didn't help. Quote
happycc Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 I am sorry we are doing Math In Focus Course 3 ..meaning 3rd year of their middle school program. So for their 8th grade but according to their tutor, she says what they are doing is very 9th grade work in her country which is Canada. We are in America. California specifically. Quote

Common Core Algebra 1 is what follows next. You don't have to use a Common Core text - just locate the topic list for CA. See Eureka Math for sample CC programs. http://greatminds.net/maps/math/home You can use NYS Regents exams as example finals. ============================= updated for example you can use this great classic text: Algebra I: Expressions, Equations, and Applications byPaul A.
