The new KA lift-bowl mixer arrived and DD and I made sugar cookies today.  We decided since the Superbowl is tomorrow and we are Charlotte residents and Panther Fans, why not make them into shapes!

I bought dh a Panthers balloon for the game. It's the shape of a football with the "cat" face on it.  I drew (free-hand) a copy of that cat face from the balloon and a football and cut them out.  We laid the paper template onto the dough and used a sharp knife to cut them out.

We baked footballs and Panthers!!

I know that y'all probably think who cares? LOL!  But, I like this mixer and the shapes are good.

Oh yea, I made home-made buttercream frosting starting out with butter cream and dividing to make separate colors of chocolate (b/c black frosting - ew), teal and white!  I hand frosted each one and will take pics and post tomorrow!  BTW, the chocolate frosting color and taste is dark and comes across expresso in pics so at least it may look a little black in pics.

We got in to this and it took much longer than expected.  Warning - I'm no artist but did my best!

Look for pics tomorrow!!  :)

Sorry, that's not working for me. When I click on your link, it takes me to your other thread. But, then when I click on the link in the other thread, it just brings me back to this thread. Not sure if it's my computer or not? Thanks for trying though.

the link is just to cross-reference posts.

ok, there's a little picture at the end of one of the threads. if it still doesn't work, pm me and I'll

send it to you directly!

Thank you. Found it. Very cute and fun! My dd and I made a recipe out of our Great British Bake Off cookbook today and I made focaccia for my son from my new gluten free cookbook from America's Test Kitchen. I'm really getting into baking lately. I had forgotten how enjoyable it could be.
