hands-on-mama Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Which pre-algebra would you choose? I'm having a hard time finding samples of the ones I want to look at online. I would love to see some samples online. I know that in the past they have used Saxon at this co-op. They use Forester's for Algebra. Any thoughts? Quote
justasque Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I would use McDougal Littell's PreAlgebra, because the TE gives assignments etc. for working through the book at a basic, average, and advanced level, plus you can get a CD-ROM of worksheets to match (called the Easy Planner, if memory serves). That makes it easy to tailor the assignments to the particular child, give worksheets to a kid who is going away for a week and doesn't want to lug the textbook, and so on. Also, if you choose a previous edition, the TE, the CD, and the student texts are very reasonable on Amazon. AND - the CD contains a .pdf worked-out solution key for every chapter, which you can easily email to the students so they can check their answers. Plus of course tests (at three levels), quizzes, and way more other things than you'll ever need (but not overwhelmingly so). Quote

Kareni Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 My husband is teaching a Pre-Algebra class to a small group. He is using Lial's Pre-Algebra. Regards, Kareni Quote
