I am at my moms house and she has a notebook in her closet from when I was a kid. In it, is a list of stuff I was going to do. Some things on the list are:

  • Become rich but not faymous
  • Have 3 girlfriends
  • Make a movie
  • Be awesome 24/7, 365 (in the years between leap years)
  • Never be arrested
  • Beat every boy in my class at video games
  • use a wormhole not a machine to travel through time
  • do the monkey bars
  • win a golden trophy. Not a medul TROPHY
  • See inside the factory
  • Get [sisters name] back <--I can not remember what she'd done.
  • Find the remote control
  • Sell a car <--where I was going to get a car to sell, I do not know.

I thought it was funny to see how I included items that were utterly nonsensical (sell a car, travel through time via wormhole) as well as more attainable feats such as get my sister back, win at video games and do the monkey bars.

I'm glad I wasn't going to let a little thing like reality get in my way of achieving a goal.

Awesome! I, too, loved the mix of attainable (do the money bars) and unattainable (get my sister back).

I laughed about the "find the remote" one, because when I was of an age to write a list like that, remotes were attached to their subjects by wires. Not that we owned any, but my rich, older neighbors did.

LOL! How many of these things have you accomplished?

Not nearly enough.

That's so cute!  I'm wondering if you wanted 3 girlfriends at one time :001_tt1:  or over a span of time!   lol

I wasn't particular, lol! I remember that there were 3 girls whose affection I'd have loved to have.

I'm wondering if you ever found the remote. Or if you need that wormhole. :D

My childhood/teen years spanned the age of get up and walk to t.v. to turn the dial to the ONE other station on what we affectionately termed "peasant vision", wire attached remotes (don't trip!), and cordless remotes. Now, we don't even have to push the buttons, just one then we talk to the remote!! I wish we has knobs that needed to be turned sometimes, as DH and DC channel surfing sometimes drives me batty!!

I love this! What a great find!

When I was probably 12-13, I wrote a list of what my eventual husband was supposed to be like. I sure do wish I still had that; it would be so funny to look at. i do remember that his first name should have been "Chris" (I guess I just liked that name at the time and figured as long as I was making a wish list, it couldn't hurt), and his last name was supposed to be obviously of French decent, because that was stylish and would make sense with my first name. :D

That is so awesome! The random mix of reality and fiction makes it just so wonderful.

Do you get the show "Food Factory"? It's Canadian, but maybe there is an American equivalent. You get to see inside all the factories! My ds *loves* it! (I tend to never want to eat anything from the factories again when you see how dirty their machinery is.)

To be fair, we've had this particular feature for one whole week and our installer was doing his first installation outside of classroom/training situation. ;) We just moved and got new internet/cable hooked up last Wednesday.

But yes. If I want to watch Friends, I say Friends and it switches to that channel or tells me when it'll be on. Or we say the channel name like Disney, or the channel number and it "magically" changes channel.

Wow. So cool! (And it makes me feel better that it's really new!  :D )
