Can anyone recommend a math curriculum or resource that is fun? My 7yog is almost done with CLE 1st grade math and it is becoming a bit tedious for both of us. She could use a bit of reinforcement of math facts and I'd like to find something to supplement that is a bit more colorful and fun.

We thought Math Mammoth was fun enough to do all 6 years worth of it. MM1 and 2 were often described as fun by the boys.

You want a math game to break up the monotony or a more engaging math curriculum?

"Fun" is a bit hard to pin down. Does she get along with worksheets? Miquon might work. Do worksheets make her cry, perhaps invest in a batch of games and play different ones each day. Do you want it to still look line a traditional math lesson? Get part of MM (either by grade or by subject) and do that once or twice a week for variety and reinforcement.

I wouldn't dive in with expensive commercial games first. Look around YouTube/Pinterest  etc for math games that you can make for cheap/free and play at home.

Most of 1st and 2nd math can be done via skillfully designed games etc. But often those games  fall flat and then mom and dad are out $30 on a game that didn't go anywhere with the kids.

Beast Academy is in comic book form, with an accompanying workbook.  We use it as a supplement to Math Mammoth (which I find pretty dry, but thorough) and my son loves it.  It is problem solving oriented, so it presents math in a different way than the standard curriculum.  It starts at 3rd grade, so it might be something to think about for next year.

The program you need is Prodigy Math...

Free (overall...there is a paid membership, but it's not necessary).  Highly customizable.  FUN!  My kids beg to play.  I set up their assignments to review all of their math topics they've covered and need some practice on.

If you do sign up, please consider using my referral link here: https://prodigygame.com/referral.php?referralCode=7A1E6A3262C4&referralName=Crystal%2BGracioso&referralOrigin=link

My kids can get a free membership for every 20 people we refer...lol.

I third Prodigy!  We recently signed up for the Prodigy math game land my 7yo LOVES it!  I'm pretty sure it's the definition of fun math supplement.  You can make assignments (that the kids don't even know you made) so that they work on whatever skill(s) you want them to in the game.  Otherwise, it seems to just go through the Common Core Curriculum (and there are a couple other, non-CC curricula you can pick from), moving forward as the kid demonstrates mastery.

My kids also love the RightStart card games, but we use RS for math, so it's not a supplement.

Life of Fred and Beast Academy have both been excellent for adding some fun and variety to our regular Saxon Math. Life of Fred isn't exactly colourful, but the stories about Fred are very appealing to kids, and the math is fun for them. There are a ton of other facts and information also tossed in, too.

There are a lot of board games that have math features that can be very fun, too, and the added bonus is that they don't seem like school work for kids. Monopoly and Life are good for adding up money, making change, etc. Blokus is great for spatial math (and the pieces can be used again in Beast Academy). Qwirkle is fun for patterns.

We adore Life of Fred in our household. Math is my kids' favorite subject thanks to Fred! They present all concepts through fun and hilarious stories, each story is a cliffhanger too so they couldn't wait to read the next one (I one time had to say, "Okay, that's enough math for today!" I still can't believe I said it and almost regret it...)

Hope this helps! I was able to find it on www.Educents.com for a discount, it looks like they may be partnered with them.
