Gil Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I just wanted to inform those of you who might be curious that Bubbles the Mess-making Demon cat is both still alive and a part of our household. You guys are a horrible influence on me. Reading ya'lls freaking comments while listening to the boys spiel, I had a lapse in judgement and forgave the damn beast when I could have been rid of her forever. They also wanted me to thank all of the moms on the internet too. So, from Buddy and Pal to everyone who commented in favor of sparing Bubbles the demon cat: "Thank you!" 31 Quote
justasque Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 LOL! I'm glad we were a positive influence. You have some resourceful kiddos! I did wonder - how bad was the actual mess, that it sent fear into the hearts of the little 'uns on behalf of their beloved feline? Quote
Guest Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Hahaha! You're a softy ;). I've seen some pretty epic messes and it sounded like this ranked up there with the best of them. Quote
Gil Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 I still hate that animal. Just for the record. 7 Quote

AmandaVT Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 That was seriously the cutest post I've ever seen on here Gil - your kids are great. :-) Glad Bubbles is still with you guys - we had a demon cat of our own a few years back. He was a spite peer- once got on top of the stove and on the vent, managed to open the cupboard over the stove, put one leg in the cupboard and one leg on the vent and peed all over the cupboards, stove vent and it went all over the stove. Took hours to clean and we had to throw away a lot of stuff. Evil kitty..... 3 Quote

If these cats mess around and pee in my kitchen that is 100% the end of the road. Their lives are forfeit and they are getting the heck up out of here. I like to think that I can take a lot, but I know in my bones that I couldn't take that. You are SOOOO much better than me. 3 Quote

This was actually early on in our relationship and I wasn't on firm enough relationship ground to say "either he goes or I do" :-) Once we moved to VT, we kept him outside during the warmer months and confined to one room during the cold months. Before I met DH, he had peed in shoes, inside a guitar case and on a basket of freshly cleaned laundry. My kitty was mildly naughty, but her infractions were of the climbing christmas tree and crawling under the covers and attacking our feet while we were sleeping variety. Quote
Sdel Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 We had the very unfortunate litter box incident here. Poor kitty was crated for a few hours because he was a new capture and needed to be socialized and I was trying to clean his usual set up post surgery. He knocked over the water bowl then knocked over the litter box of super cat litter. Wet cat + litter = hot mess. Just so you know. The down side, the super litter wouldn't even scrape off the solid surfaces. It dried on like concrete all over the floor. And of course, it was the kitchen floor. I had to take the cat back to the vet to get the litter shaved out of his coat because they were the only place we could find to do it. No other groomer would take on the cat, and the ones that did wouldn't work us in. Stefanie Quote

Your husband must be one heck of a man for you to even hesitate to deliver the "Get rid of this nasty, kitchen pissing beast" talk. 6 Quote
zoobie Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I still hate that animal. Just for the record. I didn't realize it was a real plea at first. Your kids will always remember your mercy. And I regularly tell one of our dogs he'd better save one of us from a well one day to prove he's not a complete waste of kibble. 2 Quote

And I regularly tell one of our dogs he'd better save one of us from a well one day to prove he's not a complete waste of kibble. The boys grandmother dropped them off what should have been a few minutes before I got home. Instead it took over an hour for me to get back. I asked a mod to edit my sons name out, and I changed all of my passwords. (Its a bit of a pain to remember them all now but whatever). I also changed the password for the wifi. 4 Quote

Guest Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I'm glad you addressed the issue of internet safety, Gil. I'm an old busybody, but I found it worrisome. That would have upset me much more than anything Bubbles could have done. Thank you for updating us. 2 Quote

Absolutely, one of the other reasons that I let Bubbles go is because they got into trouble for misusing the internet. I didn't want the punishments to blur in their minds eye. I wanted to make my main point stand out and memorable. 8 Quote

elegantlion Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Toward the end of his life, my cat was known as the demon cat from hell. I showed mercy because he had a medical condition. It still ruined cats for me. 1 Quote
GailV Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Pets teach us a lot about grace. Some pets are much more effective teachers than a host of televangelists (not that that's setting the bar very high). I must admit, I'm sorry I missed the original post. Sounds like a doozy. Although deep in my heart I'm betting we could match or beat it here. 2 Quote
