Janeway
We are slowly working our way through grammar. This child is my 6th grader. He is not really making mistakes. Sometimes, I wonder if I am wasting our time on this. He does make mistakes, but it is usually in the reading of instructions. We just started a new book so I figure we will go in to early 7th grade on it. But sometimes, I wonder if I should just put it to the side and let him write papers and forget the grammar portion. I don't know. Maybe I am just being lazy.
sunshineslp
I always heard to hit grammar hard three times in a child's school career, usually around 3rd, 6th, and 9th (just guidelines, you can do it however you like). But I see most parents doing it yearly, so I wonder this too. Homeschooling mama of 4... Preschool 3, preschool 4, 1st, and 2nd:)
Kristie in Florida
I'm doing grammar formally for the last time this year, but it won't disappear. It'll be reviewed in Latin and her writing.
Erica in OR
We go through the end of the 8th grade Rod and Staff book. Super solid foundation by then. Erica in OR
My3girls
We'll end this year in 8th. High School she will have the occasional review, but it is a time for implementation.

In2why
We finished formal grammar last year in 5th grade. We still have some grammar in our writing program and expect that will continue.
Georgiana Daniels
I've been wondering this lately also. The kids are getting a solid foundation with ABeka grammar, but almost a better one from Lively Latin. It seems overkill to do both, but I'm not brave enough to drop one yet. SparklyUnicorn
My older kid is finishing up 8th. We haven't done more than a bit of review here or there. I don't think we will do anymore grammar. I've been working on grammar with him since he was 4!
