MamaSprout Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 I wanted to see if any families here have homeschooled while dealing with bipolar? I have a childhood friend who needs some BTDT experience that I cannot give. She knows removing her 13 year old from a toxic school environment would be best, but really needs help in simply managing being together all day, every day. Knowing she's not alone would probably help, too. Would this be a good place to send her? I know I've gotten lots of great advice on the other boards on the forum here. Thanks! 1 Quote
OneStepAtATime Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Yes, have her hop on here or Special Needs subforum. Someone may have BTDT experience. Also, has she tried contacting any local homeschooling groups? There might be a special needs subgroup that could help or at the very least a group of homeschoolers that could scaffold her with beginning homeschooling in general. 2 Quote
JBJones Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 We are dealing with anxiety, depression, social problems, health problems, borderline eating disorder, sensory issues, etc. Definitely tell her to jump onto the boards. It helps when you know, somewhere out there, someone else is dealing with difficult times as well. 2 Quote
Ottakee Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I am no longer homeschooling (but did for 15 years) but have 2 with mood disorders/bipolar and a host of other issues. Have her stop on by in here 1 Quote
