Dmmetler Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Well, my K-2 music class didn't materialize, but something else did-DD does a weekly co-op which is middle school focused. This semester, they're focusing on Star Wars mostly from a science angle (robotics, some physics and so on). I offered to do a couple of sessions on the music and on John Williams, and in the planning meeting, one of the moms commented that she wished she'd had a younger kid because SHE wanted to do the stuff I'd planned. Others piped in that they would, too. The result? When co-op starts in Feb, while the kids do their stuff, I'm going to do mine-I'm going to do a "music for moms" class, with basic recorder, movement, and just being silly. Most of us have older kids who don't do "cute" and "fun" much anymore-so we're going to get out the parachute and move to do analysis of musical form, jump up and down on the floor staff, and just plain enjoy ourselves. This may be the most interesting class I've ever done :). 18 Quote

fraidycat Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 That sounds like so much fun! I want to come! My kids are definitely out of the cute and fun stage. They turn off their music if I dare dance or sing to it. Quote
