Heatherwith4 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 I e-filed our taxes today using Turbo Tax, and I got an email this afternoon saying our return was rejected. Apparently someone has already used our SSN to file. It seems like I remember someone posting about this last year. I was wondering if someone could tell me how huge of a hassle it's going to be to fix. I have already found some info about the steps I need to take. TIA. 1 Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 I posted about it last year. I had to contact the IRS. They verified my identity (it was easy) and then gave me a special code to use when filing. They flagged the bad guy's return and stopped their refund. It really wasn't that bad. 6 Quote
