ExcitedMama Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 I'm doing a general overview of history for DS before we start SOTW next year. He's really enjoyed having the Playmobil toys from cavemen to Egypt and it really seems to bring it alive for him. Unfortunately they don't seem to be making them anymore. Does anyone know if they ever bring back old sets? Or if they will be continuing to make them? I can't seem to find any information anywhere, Thanks! Quote
Starr Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 (edited) Ebay has some. I think that's your best plan. I haven't noticed sets being reissued. I've used characters and objects from one 'set' to be something else for learning purposes. Edited January 16, 2016 by Starr 1 Quote
Hilltopmom Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 (edited) We have all of my husband's old sets, which my teens then used for years. I have noticed some new versions of his old sets, but I don't think they are necessarily issued regularly. They do still make playmobil, but different sets are out each year- usually some castle, Knights, Pirates, plus modern ones like family sets. We used ebay for specific ones we were looking for. I also recommend posting on yr local groups that you're looking to buy used, there may be a teen wanting to sell some off to help fund new pursuits. We're keeping ours. For grandkids (& the babies who will be old enough in a few years)! Most loved here were Civil War, Rev war, Knights, Romans, Wild West. Playmobil has a catalogue & is usually sold in "fancier" toy shops. Although, we got our Noah's ark set for $5 at a garage sale! Good luck! Edited January 17, 2016 by Hilltopmom Quote
Garga Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 They still have a few. I searched by typing "egypt" and found this one: http://www.playmobil.us/egyptian-soldiers/4245.html If you scroll down it has more offerings under the title, "...you might also like" and there were some Romans and cowboys, etc. Quote
Garga Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Search for viking and romans and native american and medieval family. There's not as much as there used to be in those categories, but there are a few. Quote
Dmmetler Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Also, check Tuesday Morning. We've gotten quite a few older sets there. Quote
