Angela Beshears
We have a group of kids that we got together to practice singing Christmas carols at a local nursing home, and everyone wants to do more, so we are hoping to practice some songs and hymns that relate to springtime. Can anyone suggest some? Or point me in the right direction?
dragonflyer
Some that come to mind: Fairest Lord Jesus All Creatures of our God and King Great is Thy Faithfulness maybe just look into hymns that are praising God about his creation/nature? eternallytired
Also consider Easter songs--a perfect occasion to sing for joy, and lots of options!
featherhead
Pass It On/It Only Takes a Spark is a good one.

1bassoon
I usually bring my piano students to nursing homes in the spring, and we prepare a collection of hymns and patriotic songs. The residents love songs from the different military branches (Anchors Away, The Caissons, Marine's Hymn); America the Beautiful; You're a Grand Old Flag, etc. They sing along - very fun! This may not be what you're looking for, but throwing it out there. blondchen
Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee I second the suggestion for Easter hymns.
Holly
This Is My Father's World Our hymn studies for spring tend to include at least one Lent and one Easter hymn. Otherwise we sing non-seasonal hymns like Amazing Grace or Abide with Me.

basketcase
Lots of great suggestions here! I'd especially second Beautiful Savior/Fairest Lord Jesus. So sweet in children's voices. A couple I didn't see yet - How Can I Keep from Singing, God Is Love (Earth with her ten thousand flowers), I've Got Peace Like a River, I feel like How Great Thou Art goes well with a spring theme. If you wanted some non-hymns, Oh, What a Beautiful Morning from Oklahoma!, maybe?
Vernal
In The Garden! My favorite hymn.
