Janie Grace
I made broth/stock from an organic chicken nine days ago and left what I didn't use the next day in our extra fridge. Then I forgot about it. :( Can I boil it for a really long time and call it good? Or is it only good for the drain? clementine
I think guidelines are a week in the fridge for store bought broth and 4 days for homemade.
Catwoman
I would throw it away. Boiling won't remove all of the toxins and I wouldn't take a chance on it.

Catwoman
Sorry. :( I hate it when I forget about something and then have to throw it away, but I have had food poisoning and I wouldn't wish it on anyone, so I tend to be overly cautious about food safety. tampamommy
Too long. And boiling will also break down the proteins in the broth and make the nutritional value much lower. Toss it.
KungFuPanda
Lost. I'm currently mourning the loss of some corned beef that I neglected to freeze. I could've made some excellent hash with it today, but I missed my freeze/use window by more than a day or two.
Ravin
We would probably eat it after bringing to a boil unless there was visible mold or it smelled off. Edited January 13, 2016 by Ravin
ILiveInFlipFlops
Nope, that would be way too long for me. I'm sorry :( Reducing food waste is a goal for me this year, so I totally sympathize.
Lady Marmalade
Nope, sorry. I would toss it. I have that problem often with my extra fridge. I put something in there to get back to it a day or two later, and then all the sudden a few weeks have passed.

Tanaqui
Nine days? Oh, dear. No, I eat almost anything, and I'd dump it.
Ausmumof3
How annoying! I wouldn't risk it though.
