I have found a few old posts that have helped some, but I am hoping those who use/have used this are still on here. I would love to hear what your daily/weekly schedule looked like while using this, especially if you didn't use the workbooks and only pulled from the TM.

I have read through the TM a few times and think I am starting to get it, but it would be so helpful to hear from others!

It's been a few years since we did this on a regular basis so I'll try my best to remember. I would pick rules and generalizations based on what they struggled with, but made sure they understood the syllable types since a lot of further teaching depends on a thorough understanding. My kids had spiral notebooks for their lessons. I would introduce a rule, have them copy it into their notebook and have them copy a word list from the text that follows the rules. The next few days I would mostly focus on the dictation sentences, making sure to include the sentences that had a review of previously learned concepts. I think the workbooks really help beef up the lessons and help implement what you are trying to teach. I think it's definitely worth a look. The workbook doesn't replace the lessons but adds to them.

Hope that helps a little.

The workbooks make it easy.  I just work on a page with the kids until I know they have it.. then we move to the next page.

So say we are on the early pages of WB2, it's all kinds of beginning sounds.  I go over the whole page.  Then I use my manual to give them words and phrases for a few at a time until I feel they have them.  I then pull the next 4 or so and throw in a few review each day.  I give them about 15 words and 2-3 phrases a day.

There is no consistent structure to our week.. sometimes we may have to spend 2 weeks on one page of the WB sometimes we may need to only spend a day or two.  We just move along when I feel they are ready.

If you don't want to get the workbooks... then you need to remember to not over think it.  It's not as hard as it seems. Work your way through the sound charts.  Give your kids words they are able to handle.  Circle back and revisit rules giving harder words as you feel they are ready.

I skip giving them nonsense sounds... it seems to just confuse my kids.
