Only me Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I've been searching for a place online to sell my used books. I love reading but really need to get rid of a lot of books. They are mostly popular novel types. The problem is either they will offer a ridiculously low price that isn't worth the shipping or most places aren't accepting these books at all. I did recently give some away to the donation truck. I dont mind donating but I wonder if that's the best route. Is there a place that just accepts donated books? Any ideas? Thanks. 1 Quote

gardenmom5 Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 (edited) check out fetchbook.info (if you poke around, you should find links to a number of different resellers with whom you could sell your books.) you can also sell used books through amazon. Edited January 12, 2016 by gardenmom5 Quote
marbel Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I've sold books through Amazon. Most books are not worth much. When I think of selling rather than donating a book, I look it up on Amazon. if there are multiple used copies available at a very low price, I'm not going to bother trying to sell mine. Quote
Ailaena Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I don't know where you live, but you may have a large library book sale near you that will accept your donated books. When we were in Phoenix, there was a huge book sale that would even come to you and pick up your books! Quote
G5052 Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I go through cycles of selling/swapping/donating because that's always been how I could afford to homeschool and keep up with my own reading. Interlibrary loan has gotten so expensive here ($6.00), and I no longer get free interlibrary loans at the local community college. For books that I can make $5+, I sell online. For less than that, I either list on Paperback Swap, or I donate for a tax deduction to the local library sale. Paperback Swap is fine if the book is going to move, but I find that some older, less popular books will just sit there. Quote
sarasue7272 Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 'Popular novel types' of books don't generally sell well online. I would try paperback swap or call your library and ask if they can use/sell them. Quote
redsquirrel Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 We donate all our books and old homeschool materials to the local friends of the library. They have huge a twice yearly sale and the proceeds go to support our local library Quote
