medawyn Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I don't mind a combo, but we NEED a fantastic printer/copier that doesn't die after a dozen uses. I feel like we replace our printer all the time, and we still never have one that functions. The Hive's best recommendation? Quote
AmandaVT Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I have a cheap-ish Canon pixma and love it. The paper never jams, the ink isn't overly expensive and it lasts a good while. It's this one: http://www.amazon.com/Canon-MG2220-Printer-Scanner-Copier/dp/B008FYGKA2 We had and hated HP's and Epsons before and the Canon was a nice surprise. I've printed out 4 full levels of Math Mammoth and I print daily for work and it has yet to give me a problem. Quote
kitten18 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Price limit? I'm very partial to Brother laser printers. Quote
MEmama Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I'm really happy with our wireless HP Envy (printer, scanner, copier). It prints fantastic quality photos, and I can print directly from my phone or iPad. I also appreciate that I can print double sided documents. Quote
happypamama Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I really wanted color and didn't want to shell out for a color laser, so I got this one about 18 months ago, having had excellent success with Canon multifunction printers before (my last one lasted about eight years): http://www.amazon.com/Canon-MX922-Wireless-All-In-One-Printer/dp/B00AVWKUJS/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8 It does a really nice job! The black isn't quite as black or crisp as a laser, but for an ink jet, I feel that it is very good (and I buy off brand ink so it's cheap). Color and even photos/art prints looks excellent. Very easy to set up, prints wirelessly very nicely (even from iPad), prints pretty fast, will scan double sided pages and multiple pages easily, and although it had a big footprint, the top is flat when the ADF is not in use, so I can set light things on it. And the print door folds up fast when not in use. Highly recommend! Quote
Forget-Me-Not Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I bought a Brother color laser that scans/copies from Costco. It was in the $400 range. The toner is pricey but lasts a long time. I keep it in BW/toner save mode as default and opt for color as needed. Quote
