Any thoughts on University of New Mexico?

Beautiful area, Cold in winter, hot and dry in summer, low COL compared to either East or West coast.

I would suggest making sure that the student will have everything they need in the metropolitan area, because that's an area where distance is measured in hours, not miles.

 I feel like that where I live no, although on a smaller scale. Pretty sure ABQ has everything I would "need" during grad school.

We lived in Albuquerque for a couple years, and Santa Fe for a couple more. I really like the area. The area was growing fast when we were there and becoming a bit congested. People are pretty casual, which I enjoy. This is an issue with another school I'm considering, but the landscape there is not anything I'd consider scenic.

Laid back I can do. Congested, well, I'm going to get that wherever I go, I think.
