purplejackmama
Any suggestions on places to visit for a girls trip. We are going this summer, and would prefer someplace not hot. No beaches. Got ideas? Edited January 8, 2016 by purplejackmama
Pink and Green Mom
I live in Florida so "hot" is a relative term. This may be too hot for you, but what about Charleston, SC? There are cute little shops, great places to eat/drink, beautiful scenic homes to tour, historical sites nearby, etc.

J-rap
My sister-in-law recently went with an old group of friends to the Napa Valley/Sonoma Valley area in Northern California. I believe they stayed in Healdsburg. Lots of beautiful country there, wineries, and the weather is usually not hot. They had a wonderful time!

Professormom
Oh, Sedona, AZ would be good as well. More off the beaten path, great restaurants, pretty and not hot this time of year:-)
lewber
Grove Park Inn, Asheville NC or Lewisburg/the Greenbrier in WV. Fancy fun:)
mamiof5
Totally agree with Sedona, but in the summer? No way. I've always wanted to do Napa too. I visited NX or SC many decades ago, would love to go back. I live in the West, so pretty much anything in the East would be good for me...don't get to go over there very often :(
Professormom
Oh jeez, I am a dork. I didn't see the "summer" part of the OP. Nope on Sedona then. Crowded and hot.
Professormom
Also, Coronado Island in Cali. Ocean makes it less hot and there is plenty to do without sitting at the beach.
Professormom
Or Catalina.
Ottakee
Traverse city MI or Mackinac Island might fit the bill
Liz CA
How far can you / do you want to go? The fjords in Norway are not hot and beautiful in the summer. Or a small, quaint coastal town in Maine? Or Sea Ranch in Northern CA, someone already mentioned Catalina Island but I think it could be crowded. Coastal Oregon or Astoria WA? QueenCat
Napa has been recommended by a few.......... and I'll have to agree. Hubby and I are meeting up with a few friends there in June.
school17777
I met a group celebrating a 40th bday in Williamsburg last June. They were from Wisconsin. Funny thing is, the birthday girl celebrated too much before they left and wasn't able to go on the trip!
whitestavern
I like the idea of doing a vineyard tour. CA, upstate or Long Island, NY, Oregon maybe?
Artichoke
We love to sightsee, drink wine, eat yummy food and laugh. Looking for something off the beaten path that none of us have visited recently. How about the Biltmore Estate?
unsinkable
We love to sightsee, drink wine, eat yummy food and laugh. Looking for something off the beaten path that none of us have visited recently. You could go to NY... the Finger Lakes has lots of wineries, B&Bs, little towns & villages Or Buffalo/Niagara Falls NY...wineries are north of Buffalo and west of NF. The Niagara Escarpment creates a nice zone for growing. There is a ton of stuff to do in Bflo in the summer: free concerts, free Shakespeare, festivals, etc. Or go to Ontario, Canada and go to their wineries near the escarpment. Niagara on the Lake is a nice little town.
