SparklyUnicorn
http://www.amazon.com/SwissGear-ScanSmart-Computer-Backpack-Laptops/dp/B002OHDIWY/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1451747542&sr=8-4&keywords=swiss+gear+laptop+backpack I have that one. Sometimes my son takes the laptop places so I liked the fact this bag does not scream "I have a laptop in my bag". It just looks like a regular backpack.
StephanieZ
I've evolved towards using a laptop sleeve and then just tossing it in my purse or other bag. They sell really nice neoprene cushioned sleeves to fit various laptop sizes, they're about $15, and then you can have whatever nice stylish bag you like. Check them out. It's nice not to have to get a whole new laptop bag whenever you change computers. :) Amazon has loads of choices. For the sleeve, I just look for one that is well reviewed, fully zippered, and possibly has a smaller outer pocket to stash cables or earbuds in, but I've ended up with ones that don't have pockets large enough for the power cord, but do have one small pocket that can handle earbuds and small cables. For me, the power cord stashes separately somewhere in my purse/bag that I'm carrying. Works for me. My daughter uses a similar process for her laptop at college -- a cushioned sleeve that goes inside an additionally cushioned compartment in her school book backpack. Wow, you must have a very large purse!! Or a very small laptop.
Lanny
During April 2014, we received the first of the 3 Refurbished Dell Latitude E6400 laptops we purchased from Blair Technology Group. Blairtg Then, we needed a bag for it... The first 2 laptops we purchased from Blair were on Amazon.com I saw that among the other things Blair had for sale on Amazon was a laptop carrying bag made by CODI. That's a brand I'd never heard of, but when I read the Reviews on Amazon, I knew it was probably worth more than the $20 I paid for it. Check out CODI, among other brands. Caroline
My DS, DH, and I all carry LL Bean backpacks with laptop sleeves.
Arcadia
We have many laptop bags. Hubby has the briefcase kind for formal meetings, the backpack kind for going to work. I have the rolling laptop backpack for library and my boys have the Targus laptop backpack which are great for taking public transport. It depends on what your needs are but cushioning/padding is important if you opt for a rolling laptop bag. Two zippered main compartment backpacks are good for laptop backpacks as you can put the laptop in one compartment and books/binders in another instead of everything in one big main compartment. wapiti
Many, many backpacks now come with laptop pockets/sleeves because many kids carry devices at school. My kids carry devices in backpacks from LL Bean, Swiss Gear and Jansport, all with laptop pockets (the latter two were purchased at Target). Without inspecting them all right now, I can't remember which brand I think is best for the laptop pocket. I particularly like the ones where the pocket does not go all the way to the bottom of the backpack, but starts an inch or so above the bottom, so that there's a chance for more cushion should you set the backpack down too abruptly. A backpack would be my personal preference (but then, I'm also a backpack-instead-of-diaper-bag kind of person). If you have a large-size laptop, check that the dimensions will fit the sleeve/pocket.
