We are currently under a tornado watch and the Weather Channel has us at Torcon 8 which means a 80% chance of a tornado tonight.  Our bad weather isn't here yet but is supposed to be here until 2am.  Just what I need after having insomnia last night.  I hope boardies are safe from all the tornadoes out there.

We were under Tornado Warning and our town wide sirens blared for about 45 minutes..... it rained :glare: .  I appreciate that we are in a high tornado incidence area but I spent quite a bit of time calming my DS (he's a serious worrier). I guess DH and I shouldn't have told him our survived a tornado stories?

So now it's drizzling a bit and I love having the windows open and listening to it....

Tornados are so scary to me, probably because I have not lived where they are common.

We are getting endless rain and above-average temps...it doesn't feel like Christmas Eve Eve. My chicken pen is a mucky soup. I hate it when it gets like that. I will probably theow some straw down tomorrow to help it a little bit.

38c with 50kph winds so severe fire danger weather. Outdoor Webber BBQ is traditional for a lot of people and can't happen due to total fire ban. Police will be on duty actively monitoring roads for known arsonists. And the north of Australia is on cyclone watch. Hope everyone stays safe this Christmas.

We are having interesting weather.  We had floods and landslides a couple weeks ago.  DH was stuck at work overnight due to a landslide.  We are still getting a lot of rain so standing water is a problem in a lot of places.  Then earlier this week we had a wind storm blow through that caused a lot of property damage and power outages.  Several extended relations were without power for several days and a few had damage to their houses.  We were fortunate and just lost a large limb on a tree in our yard which didn't cause any damage.  I think we are supposed to be drying up a bit and getting colder.  I am hoping that the roads dry out before it freezes.  Icy roads are not much fun.

We had a tornado warning yesterday. It won't stop raining and now they are talking about opening the flood gates because of the high level of the lake. Hopefully it won't cause too many issues, but I'm sure many people near us are very fearful of that scenario.

A friend in Alabama posted that her house was struck by lightning and caught on fire this afternoon. Thankfully, no one was injured and they were able to get into a hotel for a few days.
