justme824
I'm looking to pickup up a complete collection of Grimms fairy tales for my twelve year old. He's been wanting to read the original tales. I am overwhelmed with my choices so I thought I'd see what you recommend as a good edition for him. I'm considering adding a copy of Hans tales as well. Kathryn
I got my 10yo this one and he loves it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1607103133/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1450664122&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=grimms+complete+fairy+tales&dpPl=1&dpID=51WgrlJnCmL&ref=plSrch
Kathryn
I can't recommend this one of Hans Christian Andersen since we haven't gotten it, but this is the one on my wish list: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0385189516/ref=aw_wl_ov_dp_1_3?colid=3H28P5RBGU72F&coliid=I2AWGWZLEBT0HG

Hunter
Word Cloud Classics splits Grimm's up between 2 volumes. They also have Hans Christian Anderson. The pleather covers are very popular here, and the font is a bit bigger and easier to read than some other editions. http://blog.thunderbaybooks.com/2012/09/word-cloud-classics/ I have not found a complete Grimms that is comfortable to hold and read. Hunter
Barnes and Nobles publishes their own softcover, thrift hardcover, and leather bound. Softcover http://www.barnesandnoble.com/mobile/w/grimms-fairy-tales-barnes-noble-classics-series-jacob-grimm/1108825515 Hmm...maybe the others are OOP or just out of stock for Christmas. Hunter
Dover has the hardcover Calla editions. They are surprisingly expensive compared to their thrift paperbacks. http://search.doverpublications.com/m?formSubmitted=true&keywords=Calla&x=0&y=0 Edited December 21, 2015 by Hunter
Hunter
I know of tons of others that are not complete, but nice in other ways. I started off assuming I wanted complete, but have branched out from that. The Word Cloud are my favorite.
