Best accessories for GoPro? (Knock-off brands are fine!)

I have seen dozens of inexpensive GoPro accessory kids on Amazon and would like to order one for my ds15, but I'm trying to find one that is of reasonably good quality.

In all honesty, ds hasn't even asked for a GoPro, but when I saw one of the knock-off (FauxPro? ;)) ones on a Lightning Deal recently for only $63.99, I couldn't resist ordering it. It's supposed to be compatible with GoPro accessories, but I don't want to spend a lot of money on any of this stuff until I see if my son actually uses it. This is more of an extra gift and not a "big" gift, so I don't want to go overboard with it, yet I still want him to have a bunch of accessories and mounts so he can have some fun with it.

This is the camera I bought: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014W5R85S?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00

It comes with some accessories, but I was thinking my ds might also want the chest harness/mount, headband thingie, and wrist mount. The suction cup mount and monopod look cool, too. And some of the other things I have seen look interesting, but I have no idea what they are for. ;)

If anyone has any suggestions on what to buy -- or what not to buy -- I would really appreciate it.

Thanks! :)

Our suction cup mount is used the most. We use it on our car when we caravan, sightsee, or do track driving.  Ds uses it to set the camera up when we wants to capture a gag or record a room full of people.  He'll mount it high on a window, pointing into the room, and use the remote to operate it.  People forget it's there since it's not on a tripod or being held by someone.

My daughter is a gymnast, she loves this harness. You have to to put it on over your head but it works great and she does not care, it works great for the price. It is fun to see the gymnast's eye view of flips!

It is dad's go pro but he occasionally shares.

Thanks -- the suction cup mount looks very cool. I'm glad Amazon offers a lot of knock-offs, though, because some of the genuine GoPro accessories cost more than I paid for the whole camera! ;)

Thank you for posting the link, Elizabeth -- the harness looks perfect, and the price can't be beat!!! :hurray:

I am looking for one of the clamping mounts, I figured that would be easier to mount at the park or whatever than the suction cup. But I haven't bought anything yet besides the camera so am watching this thread!

Does it seem worthwhile to buy a case?

The camera I bought came with a nice little padded case. There are lots of them on Amazon, and many are part of large accessory kits which are very inexpensive. I saw an official GoPro case at Best Buy, but it didn't seem any nicer than the ones on Amazon that sell for a fraction of the price.

I keep reading the reviews of different kits on Amazon, and many mention that the cases are good quality.

I usually always buy name brand everything, but because my ds isn't even asking for an action cam, I decided to go with an inexpensive one, and I am going to buy a knock-off accessory kit, too. If the quality is good, that will be great, and if the items don't last very long but my ds loves using them, I can always buy a "real" GoPro and official accessories at that time. But if he hardly ever uses this one, I won't have wasted a lot of money.
