Janie
Sometimes my dh's hogs the covers and sometimes I do. I'm thinking about trying king-sized sheets on our queen bed. Has anyone done this? Is there way too much sheet? Thanks!
Tess in the Burbs
we also have king size comforters :-) So yes, it works! one thing you can do rather than buy separate sheets is to sew on an edge to the queen flat sheet. My mom did it with all my twin sheets growing up so she could also use them on the double guest bed ;-) just choose a similar color or eye-catching print for the sides. pretty straight forward....nothing fancy to add on a strip with a clean edge. Lizzie in Ma
I don't know why the right size sheets never have enough to tuck in but they don't.
Begonia
I've been doing this for years. I buy queen size fitted sheets and king size upper sheets, blankets, and duvets. That way, when dh rolls around and pulls the covers during the night, there's still enough left for me!
Jennifer in MI
What an awesome idea!! I have a king sized bed, or I'd be borrowing this idea for myself! My dh and I absolutely cannot share covers! One of us always ends up with NO covers (usually, ME!! LOL). We ended up with king sized everything so that the bed looks put together when made. Dh has his own set of covers that get folded and put away every morning. It has worked SO well for us!!!
Needleroozer
Yup. We do it here too. We use king on our queen bed, dd uses queen on her full, and ds uses full on his twin. Works fine. Sometimes there is a bit extra in the pocket area, but they stay tucked in just fine. Dh likes lots of covers on his side, and is a blanket hog on top of that, so it really makes it easier for me to sleep in the same bed as he does. If I had the space, though, I would have my OWN bed!! I really hate sharing my bed with anyone, let alone someone who snores, and has sharp toenails. :p

Sandy in Indy
Yes...king sheets on a queen bed are a marriage saver, not to mention they keep my buns from freezing! Another solution...and the one we're using now...is for each to have their own top sheet. I have a twin sheet; dh cocoons in a blanket. (We're having some temperature differences at the moment!) Tap
We have a queen size bed but it is a 20 inch thick mattress! I have to buy specialty queen size sheets for the fitted, but buy king for everything else.

ChristyB in TN
I use our old king sized sheets when on our inflatable mattresses when when we camp and it works great. I think it is a great idea for the queen sized beds.
GreenKitty
No but I have used Full size sheets on all the twin beds. I wish there were something larger than King size because I would use those for our bed! Seems all the king sheets are too small no matter what I purchase. Very frustrating!
